Renovation Project- Coming in FebruaryIn February, the library will undergo a major interior renovation project, which will include painting, replacing the carpeting, installing new service desks, and relocating the Children’s Department. This is the first major renovation of the building, which was built in 1991. All of the components of the project are geared to making the library user-friendly, welcoming, and a pleasant place to visit. The scope of the project will require the library to be closed for business from January 27th until March 5th. During this time, Acorn Public Library in Oak Forest will be processing our interlibrary loans, and Acorn and Crestwood Public Library will assist patrons by placing holds and providing other patron services. In addition, Midlothian Public Library cards are valid at any SWAN library. Click here for a list of these libraries or ask at the Main Desk. Book DonationsDue to our extensive renovation project, the library will be unable to accept book donations between January 10, 2012–March 15, 2012. Donations will again be accepted when the project has been completed. RENOVATION FAQsWhen will the library be closed? We will be closed on Friday, January 27th to prepare for renovations.
